Seriously. My mother would be so proud. The protein content of my diet of the past few weeks has risen to significantly healthier levels. I'm feeling good about myself. I'm feeling sharper, manlier, like whatever each new day throws at me, I'm ready for it. Because I'm eating breakfast again. Damn straight. Deviled eggs.

When someone says synergy—it's something of a buzz-word among business people—I think deviled eggs. Because individually the ingredients range from somewhat tasty to gag-inducing. But together: divinity.
These are the necessary ingredients:
- half a dozen boiled eggs
- mayonaise
- dijon mustard
These are the variable ingredients:
- honey dijon
- "old style" dijon
- smoked or regular paprika
- dill
- cinnamon (seriously) (just a dash)
And they're so simple. Do this: boil the eggs. Drain and fill the pot with cold water and let them sit for about half an hour. Crack and peel and slice the eggs in half, drop the yolks into a bowl or something that could function as a bowl. If you don't have blender, then stab and slash the yolks into particles, add the mayo and mustard, and whip it around until it's creamy. If you have a blender, figure it out yourself. Then, spoon the mixture back into the eggs and sprinkle your spices on.

I usually let them refrigerate for a while after that. But they're edible and delicious at any point between completion and, say, three days later. If your refrigerator occasionally gets abnormally cold, be careful that they don't freeze.
